The Porto Conte Park

A special encounter with nature and beauty

The area surrounding the city of Alghero is as spectacular as the city centre and its beaches. To preserve its natural beauty, the Porto Conte Park was created, which begins north of the city, in the direction of Fertilia, with the Calich lagoon, and which extends throughout the promontory of Capo Caccia, the undisputed symbol of the city.

Inside it includes spectacular scenery such as the promontory of Punta Giglio and the famous caves of Neptune. The variety of landscapes and activities included in the park is remarkable, making it the perfect place for hikes both long and short, and suitable for both experienced and amateur hikers and families with children.

Among the many places to visit, there is definitely the "Le Prigionette" State Forest, a wildlife oasis of great importance where it is possible to encounter various animal and plant species of great naturalistic and even scientific interest, since some are exclusive to this area.

For those in search of more challenging and off-the-beaten-track itineraries, we recommend Punta Giglio, where there are many routes from which you can reach extraordinary vantage points with incredible views of the gulf of Porto Conte.
